We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper, familiar with accounting practices and purchasing processes, with great communication skills. Previous work experience in the manufacturing sector is highly desirable.

This position will entail a combination of bookkeeping and purchasing.

Purchasing: The Successful candidate will need to assist with sourcing of products as well as purchasing of imported goods. The candidate would generate the purchase orders, liaise with the suppliers to obtain invoices and delivery details as well as expedite all orders to the place of final delivery. All the time liaising with the person requiring the goods so that they are informed throughout the entire process. Once goods are delivered, the goods receipt would need to be generated and invoices captured.

Bookkeeping: The successful candidate will be responsible for capturing all invoices and maintaining a balanced set of books, for ensuring that all hard copies of documents are filed in a neat and orderly fashion in compliance with the relevant legal requirements, as well as general office administrative and reception duties

 

Qualifications and Experiences

  • Extremely good communication and people skills, must be proficient in English
  • Minimum two years bookkeeping experience
  • Experience in purchasing will be beneficial
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Or Google Suites)
  • Experience with Pastel or Quickbooks is a necessity
  • General accounting and office administration experience
  • Ability to create and maintain efficient and effective record keeping systems
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector will be beneficial
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices
  • Experience with Mauritian tax laws and statutory returns would be beneficial
  • Must be able to work independently, have good attention to detail and meet deadlines
